Chanel Couture Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 - the hair, the makeup

Chanel Couture Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 July 7 2015 Grand Palais, Paris

For the Chanel Couture Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 collection, staged on July 7 2015 at the Grand Palais in Paris, makeup artist Tom Pecheux created a very pale and contoured look. Eyebrows are highly defined. Lips are matte and match cheeks in a deep red pink or a more subdued rosewood colour. Hairstylist Sam McKnight created angular, dark brown wigs designed to accentuate cheek bones. Models' own hair looked shorn underneath, a strong, dramatic beauty showcasing an exquisite couture collection by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.

Prada Spring/Summer 2015 Backstage Beauty Shot

Prada Spring/Summer 2015 Makeup by Pat McGrath Hair by Guido Palau

For Prada Spring/Summer 2015, Prada Beauty focuses on the eyes and the eyebrows. For the Prada Spring/Summer 2015 runway show, makeup artist Pat McGrath presented a look that is, "almost like an hallucination", she says, describing this minimalist and neutral beauty. Hair stylist Guido created a ponytail for the show, with sideburns to create something "boyish" - DC

Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2015 Menswear Collection Photo and Film

Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2015 Menswear Collection Backstage Photo

After his untimely death on 11 February 2010, Alexander McQueen’s company owner Gucci confirmed the clothing brand would continue. On 27 May 2010, Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen's design assistant since 1996, was announced as Creative Director and Chief Designer at Alexander McQueen, with a plan to launch a men's underwear collection. Sarah Burton launched her first menswear collection during the Alexander McQueen ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ runway show held in June 2010 in Milan, Italy and in September 2010, Burton presented her first womenswear collection for the McQueen label in Paris.

For the forthcoming season, Autumn/Winter 2015, the Alexander McQueen menswear collection was showcased during London Men’s Fashion Week held in January 2015. The Winter wool men’s clothing has a wartime look. Military style coats and jackets in khaki, black, grey and midnight blue, some in pinstripe, are tailored to fit, a McQueen label signature. Completed with knitwear and quilting and designer leather details, trousers are three/quarter length, cropped – these trousers look odd.

The label presents an unusual view of male beauty. See a brief backstage film of the Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2015 menswear runway show here -
Casting Director Jess Hallett. Long may Alexander McQueen’s outstanding legacy continue.
