“The makeup was crisp, gleaming, and sharp like the white-tipped crest of a wave. We went with white eyeliner - MAC Pure White Acrylic Paint - instead of punk’s usual black - and used an angled synthetic brush to draw a thin line. I applied the colour starting at the center of the lid and drew the line to the very outer corner of the eye, restarting it again at the inner-eye corner, and tracing the lash line to meet the center point."

The focus was on the eyes, where the makeup artists used the Temptu Airbrush to spray-paint bright and unusual coloured eyeshadows haphazardly onto the lids – and the eyebrows were bleached for an alien-like effect”.

Get ready for orange lips next summer, as NARS makeup artists brought this vivid shade onto the runway during New York Fashion Week September 2013 for the Creatures of the Wind Spring/Summer 2014 show. NARS Director of  Global Artistry James Boehmer created soft pastel eyes and fiery lips. "The real statement of the makeup look is the satin textured orange lip.
