The album cover photograph to 'Young Americans', released in March 1975,
is David Bowie post-Ziggy Stardust (1972), when he played the alien rock superstar visiting from outer space. Against the grey of
Bowie's clothing, his colouring is the same orange red. The

romantic, mysterious and glamorous. The smoke from Bowie's cigarette
rises slowly. His bangles are glinting, Seventies and cosmic. The entire effect
is painterly and beautiful. The makeup he wears is perfect.
